Vishay introduces the T55 series of vPolyTan surface mount polymer tantalum chip capacitors

     Vishay Intertechnology announced that it has expanded its T55 series of vPolyTan™ surface-mounted polymer tantalum moulded chip capacitors with the addition of a D-shape (EIA 7343-31) dimension device with a single-digit ESR value reduced from 9 m to 7 m and a 6 m ESR value device under development.

     The capacitors released today retain the previous larger exterior size, with a single-digit ESR value 3 m to 5 m lower than the typical value of the D exterior size. This helps reduce voltage drop, improve frequency response, and has an excellent ripple current rating of up to 5.67 A IRMS, reducing the number of capacitors required for the PCB substrate. In addition to saving substrate space, the 3.1mm ultra-thin D shape size facilitates the design of thinner finished products.

     The T55 series is available in compact J, P, A, B, T (thin B - up to 1.2mm), D, V, and Z, with capacitance from 3.3µF to 1000µF, rated voltage from 2.5V to 63V, and capacitance tolerances of ± 20%. Devices for power management, battery decoupling and energy storage for computers, servers, networking devices, solid-state drives and wireless transceivers.

     Capacitors operate at -55 °C to + 105 °C and have low internal resistance to improve charge and discharge characteristics. The T55 series capacitors feature lead-free (Pb) terminals, comply with RoHS and Vishay green standards, and are halogen-free.
