Vishay introduces the new 1008 packaged commercial and vehicle scale power inductors

     Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced the availability of two new 1008 package power inductors, the commercial IHLL-1008AB-1Z and the automotive grade IHLP-1008ABEZ-5A, with dimensions of 2.5 mm x 2.0 mm x 1.2 mm. The two power inductors introduced today perform as well as the larger IHLP® inductors, occupying only 55% of the floor area, operating at temperatures up to +165C, with a wide inductance range and low DC internal resistance (DCR).

     The IHLL-1008AB-1Z has electroplated terminals only at the bottom, which reduces the substrate layout for a compact board spacing, with typical inductance values of 0.33H to 4.7H. The IHLP-1008ABEZ-5A uses electroplated terminals at the bottom and sides to increase solder joint fixation strength, improve resistance to mechanical vibration, and simplify solder joint inspection. The device is AEC-Q200 certified and can operate continuously and stably at +165 C, with an operating temperature 10 C higher than that of the nearest competitor, and a typical DCR as low as 12.0 m, a reduction of 15%.

     Both devices outperform ferrite technology by using a solid iron-powder core to seal the winding completely, eliminate air gaps, and magnetically shield cross-talk from adjacent devices, while their soft saturation curves remain stable over the entire operating temperature and rated current range. The inductor flat coil supports low DCR and high current processing, and the coil can be bent directly to form the inductor terminal without the need for a lead frame. Precision laser stripping, combined with lead plating, ensures weldability and withstands repeated thermal cycles for maximum reliability.

     The Vishay Dale device, released today, is suitable for DC/DC converters, noise suppression, and filtering for a variety of applications. The IHLP-1008ABEZ-5A is a vehicle infotainment, navigation and braking system. ADAS, LiDAR and sensors; And ideal for engine control units. The IHLL-1008AB-1Z is suitable for CPU, SSD module, data network and storage system.      The IHLL-1008AB-1Z and IHLP-1008ABEZ-5A adopt a 100% lead-free (Pb) shielded composite structure with extremely low noise, high thermal shock resistance, moisture resistance and mechanical vibration resistance, and can handle high transient current spikes without saturation. Devices comply with RoHS and Vishay green standards and are halogen-free.
