Vishay introduces the new FRED Pt ultra-fast recovery rectifier in a MicroSMP package

     Vishay introduces the new 200 V Fred Pt ultra-fast recovery rectifier in the eSMP series MicroSMP (DO-219AD) package, including the industry's first rated current of 2 A devices - 1A VS-1EQH02HM3 and 2A VS-2EQH02HM3. The 1 A VS-1EQH02HM3 and 2 A VS-2EQH02HM3 rectifiers are 2.5 mm x 1.3 mm in dimensions and only 0.65 mm in height, saving space in place of SMA package rectifiers. In addition, there are commercial versions 1A VS-1EQH02-M3 and 2A VS-2EQH02-M3.

     The device is available in a smaller MicroSMP package with typical current ratings comparable to SMA packages, with higher power density and a 57% savings in PCB footprint. VS-1EQH02HM3 and VS-2EQH02HM3 use asymmetric design, large metal shim to facilitate heat dissipation, excellent thermal performance, FRED Pt technology to achieve 13ns ultra-fast recovery time, Qrr down to 11nC, Soft recovery function over the entire operating temperature range from -55 °C to +175 °C.

     The rectifier has passed AEC-Q101 certification, and the forward voltage is reduced to 0.72V under 1 A condition, effectively reducing power consumption and improving efficiency. For use in automotive engine control units (ECUs), anti-lock braking systems (ABS), HID and LED lighting, high frequency inverters in communications and industrial power supplies, DC/DC converters, continuous current diodes, and power factor correction circuits.

     VS-1EQH02HM3 and VS-2EQH02HM3 have a moisture sensitivity of J-STD-020 Class 1 with a maximum LF peak of +260°C. The device is RoHS compliant, halogen-free and suitable for automated patch processing and automated Optical inspection (AOI) of automotive systems.
