Vishay announced the launch of eight new 100 V and 200 V devices in the eSMP® family of SMP (DO-220AA) packages, expanding its FRED Pt ultra-fast recovery rectifier lineup to include the industry's first device with A rated current of 2 A. The Vishay Semiconductors rectifier has a dimensions of 3.85 mm x 2.03 mm and a height of only 1 mm, saving space as an alternative to SMA (DO-214AC) packaged devices.
The 1 A and 2 A rectifiers released today come in a smaller SMP package with typical current ratings comparable to SMA packages, with higher power density and 24% PCB footprint savings. The device uses asymmetric design, excellent thermal performance, large metal shim to facilitate heat dissipation, FRED Pt technology at TJ = 25 °C to achieve 14 ns ultra-fast recovery time, Qrr down to 10 nC, soft recovery function over the entire operating temperature range of -55°C to + 175°C.
AEC-Q101 certified rectifiers with a forward voltage drop of 0.69V reduce power consumption and improve efficiency for automotive engine control units (ECUs), anti-lock braking systems (ABS), HID and LED lighting, high frequency inverters, DC/DC converters, and continuous current diodes in telecommunications and industrial power supplies. The humidity sensitivity of the rectifier reaches J-STD-020 standard Class 1, and the maximum LF peak is +260 °C. The device is RoHS compliant and halogen-free, making it ideal for automated patch processing, as well as automated Optical inspection (AOI) of automotive systems.
