Vishay introduces the second generation of integrated EMI shielded 4040 package automotive grade IHLE inductors

     Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced the introduction of the IHLE-4040DEw-5A, the second generation of a new automotive device in a 10 mm x 10 mm 4040 package, expanding the IHLE family of ultra-thin, high-current integrated field shield inductors. Compared to previous generation solutions, the Vishay Dale IHLE-4040DDEW-5A offers an improved shield design, with polarity marking for improved EMI performance consistency and no need for separate board-level Faraday shielding, thereby reducing costs and saving board space.

     Compared with conventional composite sensors, the recently announced device uses a copper-tinned integrated shield to suppress the electric and magnetic fields generated by EMI. When the integrated shield is grounded, the IHLE-4040DDEW-5A can reduce the radiation noise interference by 20 dB and the leakage flux by 6dB, minimizing the crosstalk of the components around the substrate. The inductor can operate continuously at +155 °C, with rated operating voltage and isolation voltage up to 75 V and 100 V respectively.

     The IHLE-4040DEW-5A power inductor is suitable for switching power supply energy storage and has excellent noise attenuation performance when used as a DC power line choke. The device is AEC-Q200 certified for entertainment/navigation systems, LED driver filtering and DC/DC conversion, as well as noise suppression for motors, autonomous driving technology Domain control units (DCU) and other noise sensitive applications.

     The IHLE-4040DDEW-5A comes in a 100% lead-free (Pb), magnetically shielded, ferroalloy enclosed package with two shielding terminals for additional fixed support and high resistance to thermal shock, moisture and mechanical vibration. Inductors comply with RoHS and Vishay green standards and are halogen-free.
