Vishay's new FRED Pt 5th generation 600 V Hyperfast and Ultrafast recovery rectifier is AEC-Q101 compliant and significantly reduces reverse recovery losses

     Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced the launch of 10 new FRED Pt 600 V fifth-generation Hyperfast and Ultrafast rectifiers compliant with the AEC-Q101 standard for automotive applications. Vishay Semiconductors 15 A, 30 A, 60 A, and 75 A rectifiers offer outstanding reverse recovery performance in their class, improving the efficiency of AC/DC and DC/DC converters, as well as hard and soft switching or resonant circuits.

     The recently announced rectifier reverse recovery loss is 30% lower than its nearest competitor and 48% lower than the previous FRED Pt solution, while providing lower on-off and switching losses to improve light-load and full-load efficiency at the high-speed LLC output rectifier end of the electric/hybrid electric vehicle (EV/HEV) on-board charger.

     The rectifier is packaged in TO-247AD and TO-220AC. Type X is the Hyperfast ultra-fast recovery rectifier, and type H is the Ultrafast Ultrafast Ultrafast Ultrafast. The X-type rectifier has the advantage of low QRR, while the H-type rectifier has the advantage of reduced forward voltage. The device is RoHS compliant, halogen-free, and the operating junction temperature reaches +175 °C.
