Vishay's new fifth-generation FRED Pt 600 V Hyperfast and Ultrafast rectifiers feature extremely high reverse recovery performance

     Vishay Intertechnology, Inc introduces 10 new fifth-generation FRED Pt 600 V Hyperfast and Ultrafast rectifiers. These Vishay's new 15 A, 30 A, 60 A and 75 A rectifiers feature excellent reverse recovery performance to improve the efficiency of AC/DC and DC/DC converters as well as soft and hard switching or resonant circuits.

     The recently released rectifier has 30 % lower reverse recovery losses than the next closest competitor and 48 % lower than the previous generation FRED Pt solution, along with low conduction and switching losses, resulting in improved electric/hybrid vehicle (EV/Hybrid) HEV) high-speed LLC output rectifier for battery charging stations, and high-frequency light-load and full-load efficiency for UPS applications.

     The rectifiers are packaged in TO-220AC and TO-247AD, the X type is a Hyperfast ultra-high-speed recovery rectifier, and the H-type is an Ultrafast ultra-fast recovery rectifier. The advantage of the X-type rectifier is the low QRR, and the advantage of the H-type rectifier is the reduced forward voltage. The device is RoHS compliant, halogen free, and operates at a junction temperature of +175 °C.
