Vishay's new wireless charging coils directly replace discontinued devices

     Vishay Intertechnology announced the launch of eight new WPC (Wireless Charging Alliance) -compliant wireless charging coils made of iron powder - the IWAS series and IWTX series, directly replacing devices announced to be discontinued in 2017. Vishay Dale receiving and transmitting coils feature a durable construction and high permeability shielding that is more efficient than a wide range of industry standard-sized devices.

     Six new receiver coils for wireless charging of portable electronic devices have power ratings up to 10 W, inductance of 10.8 µH to 22 µH at 200 kHz, inductance tolerances of 5%, typical Q values of 29 to 65 at 200 kHz, and DCR of 175 m to 427 m (5%) at +25 C.

     The three new transmitter coils for the Qi wireless charging base have an inductance of 6.3 µH to 24 µH at 200 kHz, an inductance tolerance of ± 5%, a DCR of 40 m to 75 m (± 5%) at + 25°C, and a typical Q value of 185 to 200 at 200 kHz. The device is available in temperature rise rated current 6 A and 7 A and saturation current 20 A and 22 A versions.
