XP Power Launches Half Size High Power Density Medical Adapter Power Supply

     XP Power officially announced the launch of a new ultra compact medical adapter power supply, which can meet the demand for space saving fanless solutions in home healthcare and hospital applications. The power density is up to 11W/in3. The size of AQM200 series is only 6.56 "x 2.13" x 1.3 "(166.5 x 54.2 x 33.0mm). All AQM products are sealed with IP22, with smooth surface for safe wiping.

     Compared with the existing solutions in the current market, the new solution reduces the required space by 50%, thus doubling the critical power density. By using a compact external power supply, the size and weight of the terminal equipment can be reduced, thus providing a more convenient and portable solution.

     The new AQM series offers three power levels - 200W (AQM200), 250W (AQM250) and 300W (AQM300) - to meet various medical applications. All products can operate in the range of common power input (85 – 264VAC). The AQM250 provides single output of 12V, 19V, 24V and 48V, while the AQM200 and AQM300 provide additional 15V output configurations.

     AQM series conforms to a wide range of international safety standards and EMI certification, including EN/IEC60601-1, EN61000 and EN55032. The product also meets medical EMC version 4 requirements and provides 2 x MOPP protection. With this comprehensive set of safety standards, the research and development time, risk and safety approval cost can be effectively reduced.

     This product also conforms to Class I and Class II applications, and is allowed to be used in hospitals and other professional medical facilities, as well as in patients' homes or workplaces remotely. Based on (GaN) technology, the low loss AQM series can provide an efficiency of up to 94%, and the power consumption is less than 150mW in standby mode, meeting the Class VI standard of energy efficiency. The full load output of the product can reach 40 ° C, and the load begins to derate when the temperature reaches 60 ° C.
