XP Power introduces a compact 550W AC-DC power supply for medical (BF) and industrial applications

     XP Power has announced a new compact 550W AC-DC power supply for natural convection cooling, conduction cooling, and forced air cooling. The new PSU is designed for both medical and industrial applications and is suitable for a wide range of applications - including sealed enclosure environments. The CCP550 series is an easy-to-integrate, high-power-density, high-efficiency solution for a wide range of fanless and fan-cooling applications, including medical devices, industrial electronics, and test and measurement. The product also supports sealed, semi-sealed and other high IP grade uses and is capable of operating during conduction cooling.

     In the medical field, the CCP550 series can be adapted to a variety of medical devices, including ventilators, patient monitors, imaging systems and laboratory equipment. Industrial applications include a variety of test equipment, instrumentation, process control, printing and cash handling. The product is also suitable for factory automation, audio/video and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

     The CCP550 series has six different single outputs, including 12V, 15V, 18V, 24V, 36V and 48VDC. All series include a 12V, 0.5A fan output with a 5V/2A backup output and remote on/off function as an option.The combination of a double-layer aluminum substrate structure, conductive cooling power magnets and an efficient zero voltage switching (ZVS) topology ensures a high level of efficiency and excellent thermal performance. As a result, the power can reach up to 300W under convection cooling and 400W under conduction cooling, thus achieving operation in a sealed environment, silent operation and high reliability.

     When used with 20CFM of forced air, the CCP550 series delivers a full 550W output, ensuring excellent power density levels in its compact housing (37.5 mm [1.48 in]), 127.0 mm ×76.2 mm 5[" x 3 "] space.For medical applications, the CCP550 series meets IEC60601-1 Ed.3 safety certification with 2 MOPP for primary to secondary and 1 MOPP for primary to ground and secondary to ground. Combined with low ground and patient leakage current, the CCP550 is ideal for floating (BF) patient access to medical devices.

     The wide input voltage range (80-264VAC) ensures that the product is suitable for global use, including home medical applications. In addition, the CCP550 series can operate at ambient temperatures up to +70°C and down to -30°C. When the main output is suppressed, the power consumption of the product is less than 0.5W, ensuring that it meets the challenging energy efficiency requirements.
