XP Power introduces an ultra-thin 3-phase 5kW AC-DC power module

     XP Power officially announces the addition of an ultra-thin housing product to the HPT5K0 series of high-power density, high-efficiency, 5kW AC-DC power modules. Like the existing products in the family, the new HPT5K0-L products feature three-phase, three-wire and grounded, 180 to 528VAC inputs and are ITE/ industrial and medical safety certified. The new '-L' specific product is mounted on a board and measures only 63 mm (2.5 ") in height and 254 mm x 336 mm (10 "x 13.25") in area. With 5kW of power and up to 94% efficiency, the ultra-thin housing provides good power density.

     The inherent flexibility of HPT5K0-L products and the consideration of input and output connections and the positioning of signal terminals allow them to be easily connected in series or parallel. The HPT5K0-L product is therefore a cost-effective building block for the development of high-power systems with output voltages from 60VDC to 400VDC, 25kW and above.

     Adjustment of output voltage (0-105%) and output current (0-110%) is made easy by providing analog and digital control interfaces. In addition, the graphical user interface (GUI) supports system development and allows the definition of unique user profiles. As a result, without any hardware adjustments, the product can be quickly configured to suit multiple end applications. This, coupled with the ability to use the same basic product in multiple applications, reduces manufacturing costs through time savings and economies of scale.

     The series is available in three models offering 60VDC, 100VDC and 200VDC output voltages, with a maximum 3kW rated input range of 180-264VAC and a maximum 5kW output range of 342-528VAC. The product features a very fast output conversion rate. 40ms, making them ideal for challenging test applications. A thermal fan keeps the product cool while minimizing noise.The HPT family supports I²C, RS232, and RS485 serial buses for multiple digital protocols, including PMBus, CANopen, MODBUS, and SCPI, providing developers with flexibility.

     A variety of applications, including industrial electronics, technology, semiconductor manufacturing and medical as well as high-power leds for UV curing and heating, aging equipment, lasers, motor controllers, industrial printing (2D and 3D), electric vehicle charging, test and measurement equipment, battery simulation and medical imaging devices will benefit from HPT5K0-L products.

     To support these applications, the product has been certified to a wide range of international safety standards, including UL/EN/IEC60601 and UL/EN/IEC62368. In addition, HPT5K0-L products have EMC immunity in harsh electrical environments, comply with EN55011/EN55032 conduction Class B and radiation Class A standards, ensure reliable operation and easy integration, and accelerate the process of obtaining system-level approval.
