XP Power introduces board /DIN rail mounted DC-DC converters

     XP Power has officially announced two new families of ultra-wide range input DC-DC converters. Their flexible nature allows devices with incompatible voltages to be easily integrated into industrial systems. The DTJ15 and DTJ20 series are designed for easy installation and operation. They can be mounted on a plate or DIN rail and connected via screw terminals, requiring no additional components to protect or comply with EMC requirements.

     The series offers 15W or 20W of power and is suitable for a variety of applications including process monitoring and control, industrial robotics, elevators and moving walkways, security monitoring, gaming systems, door control, communications and telemetry, and more. A key feature of the new DC-DC converters is their ultra-wide (4:1) input range, including 9VDC to 36VDC and 18VDC to 75VDC, which is ideal for multiple input sources, including multiple rated battery voltages and vehicle power supplies, without the need for multiple DC-DC solutions.

     The two products offer a total of 14 modules, with single output (3.3V, 5.0V, 12.0V and 15.0V) and dual output (±5.0V, ±12.0V and ±15.0V) options in both input ranges. The single output type allows the output voltage to be adjusted within the ±10% range to accommodate the voltage drop in the cable when the load is positioned remotely. Remote on/off enables the DC-DC converter to be controlled by software, enabling the efficient operation of remotely installed devices.

     Reverse polarity protection provides peace of mind in the event of an unexpected wiring error during device installation, while built-in input and output protection ensures that the load and DC-DC converters are always protected in case of any failure. The product complies with EN55032 Class A safety standards and the absence of any external components means that EMC safety requirements can be met without additional work during installation. This DC-DC converter can operate at temperatures up to 100 ° C, allowing for use in harsh environments as well as in sealed environments without forced airflow, such as IP67 enclosures. The ability to operate at altitudes of up to 5,000 metres ensures that DTJ15 and DTJ20 can be used worldwide.
