XP Power introduces cost-effective & High-efficiency non-insulated PoL switching regulators

     XP Power officially announces the availability of SVR surface Mount and VR through-hole, non-insulated DC-DC switching regulators. With an efficiency of up to 96% and operating temperatures from -40°C to +85°C, these two point-of-load (PoL) products are ideal alternatives to inefficient linear regulators. They operate over a wide voltage range of up to 36V and feature low static current, making them suitable for a variety of applications and battery-powered electronic devices.

     There are two versions of the SVR series, each offering a different maximum output current. The SVR05 Series 0.5A products offer an output voltage model between 1.5V and 15V and offer low standby current (remote on/off) of less than 100µa. The SVR10 Series 1.0A switching regulator has output voltages from 1.5V to 12V, backup current less than 1mA, and remote on/off function. Both are designed with size and efficiency in mind; They are packaged in a compact SMD package measuring 15.24 x 8.5 x 8.25 mm (L x W x H) with an efficiency of up to 95%.

     The SIP3-packaged VR series of switching regulators is available in three versions: the VR05 (0.5A) consumes only 0.2mA at idle, while the VR10 (1.0A) consumes only 0.3mA. Both series offer adjustable single outputs from 3.3 to 15V, with the VR20 (2.0A) covering outputs from 2.5V to 15V and each model consuming just 0.1mA at idle.

     Both the SVR and VR series have excellent EMC performance, conforming to EN55032 Class B for conduction and radiation and external components, and to EN61000-4-2, -3, -4, -5, -6 immunity standards. Their common features include continuous short-circuit protection with automatic recovery and overload protection. Typical applications include portable and battery-powered devices, sensors, robotics, instrumentation, telecommunications, embedded computing, medical devices, and distributed DC power systems that require regulation but do not require insulation. All models have more than 2 hours of MTBF data and come with a 3-year warranty.
