XP Power introduces the ultra-compact conduction-cooled 75W AC-DC power module

     XP Power announces new low-profile, half-brick, baseboard-cooled AC-DC power supplies that operate without external circuitry or comply with EMC standards. The new ASB75 series module offers an ultra-compact, fanless baseboard cooling model for information technology equipment (ITE), Internet of Things (IoT), general industrial and harsh or rugged applications.

     This AC-DC power supply delivers up to 75W from a universal (90-264VAC) input and features an integrated AC fuse, EMC filter, and hold capacitor to simplify integration and reduce space. The ASB75 series features substrate cooling, so it is possible to use passive cold wall cooling in a sealed metal housing to transfer heat to the outside of the device. Heat sinks are also available pre-installed or separately to allow the designer to use conventional convection or forced air cooling in preferred situations.

     The series is available in five models offering single output voltages of 12.0V, 15.0V, 24.0V, 36.0V or 48.0V. An efficiency level of up to 90% minimizes unnecessary heat generation and achieves an outstanding power density of 20W/in³ in an industry-standard half-brick package measuring only 2.28 "x 2.40" x 0.67 "(57.9 mm x 61.0 mm x 17.0 mm). The no-load current loss power of the ASB75 series is less than 150mW, significantly reducing the need for backup power for end equipment and enabling it to meet challenging modern efficiency standards.

     The electromagnetic compatibility of the product meets safety standards, no external components are required to comply with EN55032 Class B conduction and radiation standards, and immunity is provided to meet the EN61000-4 standard. Safety regulations comply with UL/EN/IEC62368-1 standard. This rugged, enclosed product has built-in overheat, overcurrent, overvoltage and output short circuit protection to protect the device and any load it supplies.

     The ASB75 product's substrate operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C for a variety of applications, while the full package increases reliability in harsh environments and applications requiring rugged equipment.
