XP Power introduces ultra-compact size, easy to use, programmable DC power supply

     XP Power has announced a new single-output programmable DC power supply for a variety of applications, including lab, production and embedded test and measurement. Multiple interfaces, including USB, analog, and LAN, are built in as standard, enhancing product flexibility and controllability.

     Measuring just 44 mm (1.73 ") x 224 mm (8.82 ") x 262 mm (10.3 "), the PLS600 series takes up very little space in desktop applications, with a 1U 19 "rack mount option that can accommodate 1 or 2 PLS600 power supplies.

     The PLS600 series has five modules offering DC output voltages of 30V, 50V, 100V, 200V and 400V, with all modules rated at 600W. The extended range allows a wide variety of voltage and current ratings to be obtained from a single module, such as the 30V module supporting output current up to 33A and a maximum power rating of 600 W. The product can be operated in series and/or parallel for higher voltage (600V) or higher power (2400 W).

     The product provides good load and line regulation with a programmable accuracy of about 0.1%. Built-in 12-bit D/A and A/D converters allow the product to report voltage and current with high accuracy.

     The modified product provides remote sensing capabilities, allowing for use with loads far away from the device. Built-in OVP (Overvoltage protection), OCP (Overcurrent protection) and OPP (Overpower protection) limit the output current and voltage to avoid any damage to the product under test (UUT).

     The Psus of the PLS600 series are LXI certified and meet interoperability standards for LAN based instruments. Standard LabVIEW and IVI drivers are available for all standard software. The product supports Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments (SCPI) as well as user-developed SCPI-based software. Integrated scripting capabilities allow you to program and generate user-defined output profiles to meet a variety of unique requirements.
