XP Power's IES01 and IAS01 series 1w low cost SMD DC/DC converters

     XP Power's IES01 and IAS01 series of low-cost, 1w DC/DC converters replace ISE/ISA series. Surface mount single output IES01 and dual output IAS01 unregulated converters include an integrated controller chip, resulting in a lower component count, providing an improved yield with cost savings. Other advantages are better capacitive load characteristics, integrated over-mild short-circuit protection, higher efficiency at light load and reduced power consumption at no load.

     Input range is ±10% 4.5V (DC) to 5.5V (DC) 5.0V nominal. IES01 has six single output voltages: 3.3V (DC), 5.0V (DC), 9.0V (DC), 12 V(DC), 15 V(DC), and 24 V(DC). IAS01 has five dual output voltages :± 5.0V (DC), ± 9.0V (DC), ± 12V (DC), ± 15V (DC), and ± 24V (DC). ±15 and ±24 can provide single output voltages of 30 V(DC) and 48 V(DC). Minimum load requirement is 10%, efficiency can reach 85%. I/O isolation is 1.5kV (DC) or 3.0kV (DC).

     These 1w convection cooling converters have a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C with full power available up to +100°C. Standards include safety IEC/EN/UL62368-1, EMC Immunity EN61000-4-2 for ESD, and EN55032 Class B (with minimum additional components) for conducting EMC radiation. Moisture sensitivity level (MSL) is 1. The protection level complies with IEC60529 IPX6. The mean time between failures (MTBF) is 3.5 MHrs at +25°C (MIL-HDBK-21F).

     The single-output IES01 is packaged in a DIP8 SMD package with a size of 0.52 "x 0.335" x 0.285 "(13.2 mm x 8.5 mm x 7.25 mm) and is available in 38 tubes. The dual output IAS01 is packaged in a DIP10 SMD package that measures 0.60 "x 0.335" x 0.285 "(15.24mm x 8.5mm x 7.25mm) and is available in 32 tubes. The number of tapes and reels is 500.

     IES01 and IAS01 offer excellent cost savings while providing an enhanced specification compared to the original ISE and ISA series. The increased efficiency and reduced power consumption will be particularly beneficial for battery-powered applications, providing longer battery life. With an IPX6 rating, the unit is suitable for production processes that use water washing.
